If you are in Copenhagen, taking a "canal tour" is one of the must do things for you. Though the canals of this city may not be on the scales of those in Amsterdam or Venice, the canal tour of Copenhagen can give you a quick insight into the city.
The main canal tour starts at "Nyhavn" ( although there are some intermittent stops from where people get on) and costs around 75 DKK ( as of 2013). If you are keen on saving some cash, there is another operator who does the same tour for 40 DKK ( as of 2013). -( Please watch around with a hawk's eye around the area and you will get the second option within minutes).
I have done the canal tour several times with both the operators. I have found the "Live Commentary" to be very good on the tours. The economical operator has lesser language options and the duration of tour is almost the same with both the operators.
If you know someone who knows about Copenhagen travelling with you, the "Harbour Bus" run by movia ( which is a public transport) may be the best option to go around the canal ! ( It just costs 24 DKK ticket / 15 DKK , if you have a "Rejsekort" or "Klipperkort"). If you have a valid 24 hour public transport card/ Copenhagen card/ the Oresund rundt ticket, you can take the harbour bus at "no extra" cost!. ( Routes 991/992/993).
Have a great tour!
