Berlin- Copenhagen weekend getaway option

Berlin will be a nice place to visit over the weekend from Copenhagen. Air, train and bus routes are available between these two cities. Bus operated by eurolines may turn out to be the cheapest option. (Overnight buses are available-your bus/ train will be getting on to a ferry mid-way!! for a brief stint).

The BVG day ticket ( covering ABC or AB-Take the ticket covering C zone only if you plan to travel to Potsdam.) is the best option to go around Berlin using all modes of public transport (U- bahn, S-Bahn, Bus and Ferry). ( I don't see a great value in Berlin welcome card unless you are interested in musuems- however you may wish to check that option too).

BVG day tickets are available in shops and also at vending machines at stations. Have some denomination of 20 Euro or below/ or  Maestro credit card to use the machines for buying tickets(Visa card option not available - as of 2013).

Bus routes 100 or 200 ( Double Decker) are the best ones to  go around the tourist spots. If you go to Berlin by bus , you will be getting down at ZOB. You can take route M49 from there to reach the zoo park from where you can get on to 100 or 200. ( S-Bahn and U-Bahn networks extensively connect the city, so shouldn't be a problem to connect to place from where you alight)

You may consider Canal tours, Vintage tours, Walking tours, Hot balloon view , Cycle tours options to go around the city.

If you are keen to get a view of the city from the top of the parliament, making a reservation in advance would help .( Link for reservation-http://www.bundestag.de/htdocs_e/visits/kupp.html).
